When you spend a lot of time working on your home, it tends to carry your stamp and lifeblood for a long time. People always say pets take after their owners. I think houses do, too.

This sunny yellow Edwardian style 1911 heritage home features a double-peaked gambrel roof rising above lush foliage. I added extra blooms and memorialized a beloved companion on the top step. There’s also a decidedly dragon boat shaped cloud in the sky as a nod to a favorite pastime. The shape of the house – strong-jawed, with a big grin that you can see across the front bay windows – is meant to look like the person who put so much effort and inspiration into it.
